Funding and Partners

First established by Governor Chris Sununu, Recovery Friendly Workplace (RFW) is a current initiative of Governor Kelly Ayotte and is administered by Granite United Way. RFW has been funded in a variety of ways since its inception in 2018, including through State Workforce Innovation Board (SWIB) Governor’s Discretionary Funds, Governor’s Commission Funds, and the State of New Hampshire’s General Fund. Strong support for RFW continues under Governor Ayotte, whose budget continues to fully fund the program, with over $1.5 million allocated through the State of New Hampshire’s Opioid Abatement Fund. At times, RFW has also secured additional grants (e.g., CARES Act and ARPA grants) to help complete a variety of strategic projects. Additionally, RFW is grateful and proud to have been able to fund many community partners over the years to expand the support offered by the initiative. Since the beginning of the initiative, RFW has allocated over $2.2 million in funding to 18 non-profit partners across the Granite State, underscoring RFW’s strong belief in the power of partnership.

Central to RFW’s work is fostering connections to and providing education on key recovery resources across the state, including New Hampshire’s Regional Public Health Networks, Recovery Community Organizations, 211, The Doorway, 988, and more. Additional valued partners in this work include community coalitions, recovery homes, and the many others who work across the prevention, treatment, and recovery landscapes. Thank you for your service. Your work makes RFW’s possible.

RFW is also proud to be participating in New Hampshire’s Service to Science program, which helps organizations evaluate and strengthen their models while working toward becoming evidence-based. RFW is grateful for the support and mentorship received through this program.

Early Adopters

Our Early Adopter partners have been a critical part of RFW's success. When launched in 2018, these partners committed to supporting the initiative and, in doing so, greatly helped us grow the movement. Special thank you to our 28 Early Adopter Workplaces, which have been an invaluable source of peer mentorship, New Hampshire's Community Development and Finance Authority, which provided significant funding at the beginning of the initiative, and Montagne Powers, which generously designed and donated our logo.
